Hi, I'm Lydia. It's great to meet you!
I now call Adelaide home after moving here from Perth late in 2018. I drove my life across the Nullarbor and settled in the western suburbs of Adelaide.
I studied Physiotherapy at Curtin University in Perth and have been working in private practice since. I love, love, LOVE Pilates and have done extra study in this area. I see the benefits of specific strengthening from Pilates in so many people and believe it is a great way to reduce pain and keep moving.
I understand how pain and injury can impact your life when you can no longer do what you love each day. In 2018 I spent a few months training for a half marathon and developed neck pain and headaches from my increase in running. After the race I had to stop running altogether and modify the activity I was doing to reduce my symptoms. I began a Pilates program, daily stretching and foam rolling. It wasn’t easy to always find time but I made it a priority and wanted to get back to being able to jog a few kilometers. It can seem like a long journey sometimes, but the sum of a little bit of effort everyday can have an amazing effect on our bodies.
I joined PhysioWest because their core values aligned with mine. I believe having a good work culture enables me to deliver the best care to my patients. My main areas of interest are pregnancy and women’s health, Clinical Pilates and neck pain and headaches. I love meeting every new person that walks through my door.
I have a deep love for coffee, the surf, running and Pilates.
