Hi, I'm Spencer. It's great to meet you!
I graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Physiotherapy in 2015. I have attended a number of professional development courses including dry needling, DMA clinical pilates, and the APA sports physiotherapy level 1 course.
My first physiotherapy experience was following surgery for a labral tear in my shoulder which I sustained while playing basketball. My experience was a great one as my physiotherapist worked with me to achieve my goal of returning to competitive basketball.
I was born in Canberra and moved around Australia when I was younger before finally settling in Adelaide. I have two older brothers and a younger sister. My dad lives in Sydney and my mum lives between Adelaide and Japan.
I have always enjoyed being active and playing sport so I was naturally drawn towards becoming a physiotherapist and helping others achieve their health goals.
I joined PhysioWest in early 2017 and was attracted to this clinic due to its holistic approach to health and the amazing facilities available.
My core message “Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. - Michael Jordan
My three main passions when working with clients are; acute injury management, return to sport, and general health and wellbeing.
Outside of work, I enjoy catching up with mates for a coffee and the occasional beer, mostly while watching some form of sporting event or playing videogames.
I follow Everton FC in the English Premier League and the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. I also have an interest in mixed martial arts.
