My focus areas and passions as a physio are education, empowerment and exercise. It’s my responsibility that my patients understand their presentation, and the reason for the type of treatment we might be undertaking. In turn, this empowers them to actively push ahead with their rehab.
As a kid I was a staple in my Physio’s practice with a variety of sporting injuries. I’d probably have to say this is where my interest in Physiotherapy began. Finishing high school I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, so I just worked, and worked… and worked… Over this time my interest for health and fitness really began to grow. I decided to drop everything that I was doing, take a shot in the dark, and pursue Physio. Fast forward a few years and I’m really glad I took that leap of faith.
I decided to join the team at PhysioWest because they offered a unique environment to develop and further my career. With a strong focus on patient centred care, a strong team culture, and a diverse workload with excellent facilities – which sounded like the perfect place for me.
My core life message isn’t a message as such. It’s more to do with the pillars by which I live my life – joy, compassion, competition, and mindfulness. I live to think that these are some of the key components to a happy and fulfilling life.
Outside of work, I’ve got 2 younger sisters, and a younger brother. I am an NBA fan (fan is probably an understatement) and spend much of my free time watching the games. I also love to exercise; I’m a pretty avid reader, super into movies and pop culture, and love exploring the abundance of great food options around Adelaide.
I have completed a Bachelor in Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia, and relevant qualifications as a Strength and Conditioning Coach through the ASCA and Fitness Instructor through TafeSA.
