Physio Designed Exercise
Incorporating clinical pilates and movement screening our team of Physiotherapists will design an exercise program specific to your needs. Incorporating Pilates into exercise programs allows us to work with you on training the deep spinal muscles to gain ‘core stability’. Your exercise program will be designed to promote strength, balance and flexibility of the whole body. All exercises are low impact and suitable for all levels of fitness and ages, including pregnant women and the elderly and the rehabilitation for spinal pain, sciatica, arthritic problems, scoliosis, postural problems, post knee and hip surgery and work injuries.
Orthopaedic rehabilitation is often needed post-surgery to aid in the healing process for patients. Rehabilitation is useful post spinal fusion, total hip or knee replacement, shoulder surgery and ankle reconstructions. Our physiotherapists will consult with your surgeon and GP to ensure you return safely to exercise.
Exercise for Osteoporosis
Half of all women and one-third of all men over 60 in Australia will have a fracture due to osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a disease in which the bones become fragile and brittle and may fracture. Exercise helps keep bones strong, prevents falls and possible injury by improving strength and balance and improves recovery rate after fracture. Individual and small group sessions for clients with osteoporosis concentrate on exercises which improve bone density as well as exercises that reduce the risk of falls.

You can undertake individual exercises at the PhysioWest gym with a 90 day gym membership ($90, unlimited use). The gym is open during clinic opening hours. Note that group classes are not included in this membership. Our physiotherapist will meet with you to establish goals and design a program specifically for you. (Standard consultation fee applies).
